Four Eyed Monsters - Episode 1 (via foureyedmonsters)

It’s funny how things come around full circle. In high school I watched the video pod cast Four Eyed Monsters religiously. It was the project that really was a huge influence that got me into film school. Now here I am, 3 years later after my initial freshman year at Columbia College Chicago… in that time I dropped film for photo (as I’d been a photographer for many years prior to becoming a film major), I’ve become a spectacular failure at film, and rewatching these episodes is reminding me that it does matter.

If I wanna make something, I’m gonna do it. I just need to find a story within my own life. Also, it’s strange to have the camera turned on me. Perhaps I’ll document my progression to becoming independent and moving back to Chicago. After all, I had wished I had some sort of advice bestowed upon me as I was leaving my high school year and becoming moderately independent for the first time in my life when I moved to Chicago. But we’ll see how this goes.

Side note: it saddens me that the older I get, the more and more I understand their initial feelings about art and love.
